Ezina or Greg: the short answer
Use Greg if you want a houseplant app with an active community attached, and you want it today.

Ezina is in closed alpha. Anyone can install the Android app, but creating an account still needs an access code, and public launch is February 2027. If you need a plant app working on your phone tonight, the honest answer on this page is one of the others.

Where Greg is the better choice
Greg is available now and Ezina is not. Greg also has a genuine community, which is the part of the product its users talk about most, and Ezina's community features are newer and smaller.
Greg's plant browser is well built for indoor growers. It organises houseplants by traits like "Fast grower," "Survivor," "Pest magnet," and "Easy to propagate," which is a practical way to choose a plant that matches how much attention you actually give.
Where Ezina is different
Ezina explains the watering decision. Greg's public pages describe personalized care but do not document what goes into a watering schedule. Ezina derives its schedule from species requirements, measured light, pot and soil conditions, and local weather, and the sources for those inputs are published in the references.
Ezina covers outdoor ground. Greg's public material describes houseplants. Ezina's site assessment works from your address to derive sun and shade, soil, slope, and drainage.

Enter a plant and a U.S. county and it reports whether that plant is recorded as native, introduced, or absent there, and whether it appears on an invasive or noxious-weed list for that state, citing the statute each listing comes from.
