Water by the weather, not by the calendar

Ezina schedules watering for each pot and bed from the rain, the heat and what the plant is growing in, and tells outdoor beds how many gallons to give.

What decides when a plant needs water

010.1Weather

Rain and heat

When rain is likely, the card says Rain expected and shows a reduced amount next to the full one. Hot days raise outdoor amounts.

010.2Container

Containers dry differently

Pots catch less rain than the ground and dry out faster, and terracotta dries faster than plastic. Each plant is scheduled for how it's planted.

010.3Room

The room a plant lives in

Set a room's temperature and humidity once, and every plant in that group uses it. A drier room brings the next watering sooner.

§ 020 · On watering day

Know what's due and how much to give

Ezina's calendar for Sept 14 to 20: Garden Phlox is due water on Tuesday, with estimated waterings later in the week for it and for basil. A plant's Water needs card: Water today, last watered 5 days ago, suggested volume about half a gallon. The same card after logging: Watered, last watered today, with an Undo button.

    Watering sits on the calendar next to planting and treatment, including days Ezina expects you'll need to water.

  2. 2Give the amount shown

    Outdoor beds get an amount in gallons, worked out from the size of the bed's root zone, not just a depth in inches.

  3. 3Mark it done

    Log one plant, or mark a whole group watered at once. Undo is there if you tap the wrong one.

Do I need a sprinkler controller?

No. Ezina schedules watering for the pots and beds you water yourself.

Does it work for houseplants?

Yes. Indoor schedules adjust to the temperature and humidity you set for the room.

Where does the weather come from?

Open weather data for where your plants are, combined with published water-use science.

Can someone water while I'm away?

Yes. Share your care calendar with a link. They don't need the app or an account.

Why does a bed say gallons?

Outdoor beds get an amount in gallons based on the size of the root zone, so you know how much to give.

Where can I use Ezina?

Ezina is in Early Access on iPhone and Android in the contiguous U.S. Seats are limited.
