§ Compare · Checked Oct 2026
If you've used a garden calculator online, you may have seen HarvestMath. Its Garden app plans a food garden from a ZIP code, down to the drip parts and the shopping list, and runs offline in your browser. We built Ezina for the whole garden, indoor and out, food included. Here is how the two compare on what they do, what they cost, and what they do with your data.
We make Ezina, so read this knowing that. Every HarvestMath fact below says where we found it.

§ 050 · Our edge
Give Dig an address and it pulls your lot line and your house, finds every tree around it from a laser survey, and casts their shade for every daylight hour. HarvestMath's beds are sized by hand, and you set each one's sun yourself.
From 1-meter elevation data, Dig shows where cold air settles and where rain runs and gathers, so beds go where they'll do well. HarvestMath dates planting from the nearest NOAA station, not the spot in your yard.
Plants, more than 14,000 insects, and plant problems from a photo, with a cited treatment plan. HarvestMath's Plant Doctor works from questions, with no photo identification.
Native status by county, and invasive status from 43 contiguous states' lists. HarvestMath has none we could find.
Tag the birds, pollinators and insects you see, count every species in the Life list, and see the wildlife a planned bed supports. HarvestMath has neither.
Send a link, and whoever's watering sees what's due and logs it without an account. HarvestMath has no way to share care we could find.
§ 060 · Fair's fair
$49 once, with no subscription, less than one year of Ezina at launch. Lawn, tree, houseplant and hydroponics apps are included.
No account, and nothing is uploaded. It works offline as one file you keep.
Seeds, soil, fertilizer, drip parts and supports in one list, in amounts you can buy.
Track the harvest of each crop, and its review suggests next year’s amounts and rotates your crops.
§ 070 · Questions
No. HarvestMath Garden is $49 once, with no subscription, and its free demo is capped to 2 beds. Ezina is $70 a year at launch ($50 for Early Access seats), after a 14-day trial with no card.
Neither shows ads in the app. Ezina's Transparency Promise commits to never running them. HarvestMath's About page says its site is supported by ads and affiliate links, though we saw no ads on the pages we read.
Not automatically. HarvestMath saves a backup file, but Ezina can't read it, so plants are added to Ezina one at a time or by photo identification.
Ezina is in Early Access on iPhone and Android in the contiguous U.S. HarvestMath Garden runs in a browser on Windows, Mac, iPhone, Android and tablets, in English. Its frost dates and forecast come from U.S. sources.
